Welcome to the

Blount County Beekeepers Association
 Web page

If you live in the Blount county area and keep honey bees or are just interested in or curious about honey bees you are cordially invited to attend our next (and any future) meeting.

The Blount County Beekeepers Association meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from January through October. We also meet on the first Saturday of December for our Christmas Party. It is a covered dish meal. All meetings are held at the Blount County Resource Center in Cleveland, Alabama at 6:30 pm. This is the old Cleveland post office building. For more information please contact Lonnie Funderburg at funder@otelco.net.

FREE BEEKEEPING CLASSES

The winter 2019 class has been completed and was a great success.  We are looking into the possibility of offering a fall bee school.  If so, it will be taught by Lonnie Funderburg.   If the fall weather is conducive (and it normally is) the class will likely include "open hive" activities for the new beekeepers.   Please check back here as the summer dwains and fall fills the air for the latest updates.

Class participants will likely have the option to order packages in the December time frame for a spring 2020 delivery (A couple of packages of honey bees might make an excellent Christmas present for class attendees).

For more information contact Lonnie Funderburg...funder@otelco.net and Harold Deason...hdeson@aol.com
